Russell B. Ashley

Savannah- Mr. Russell B. Ashley, 88, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 after a short illness.

He was a welder, retired from Continental Can Company, a member of Thunderbolt Baptist Church, a WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Merchant Marines. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Nassie Paulk Ashley. A loving and giving family man, he will be deeply missed by all who ever knew him.

Survivors include his sons, Bobby Ashley Barbara and Russell Ashley Phyllis; daughter, Gail Downing Richard; sister-in-law, Billie Daniels; Sister, Iris Harrell; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with Reverend Marshall Ray officiating.

Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
